HESTON COMMUNITY SCHOOL

(Our new website is currently under construction, please bear with us in the interim.)

WEDNESDAY 13 JANUARY

School is closed to all students today except those who are writing exmas.  These will take place as scheduled.

THURSDAY 14 JANUARY

We expect school to be open for all students on Thursday, weather permitting.  The school day will begin at 8:30 and end at 2:55 as usual.

EXAMS & STUDY LEAVE

·         Exams will take place as per schedule this week.

·         Year 12 study leave runs from Monday, 11th January, until Friday, 15th January.  Year 12 should return on Monday 18th January.  Students sitting exams after the 18th are expected to attend school normally but are not expected to attend school the day before an examination so they can use this time for exam preparation.

·         Year 13:  There is no study leave for Year 13.  However, students are not expected to attend school the day before an examination.  Whilst in school, students will be in normal lessons working on exam preparation with their teachers.

·         BTEC & Diploma Students:  All students are to attend as usual.

Headteacher

I am immensely proud to be Headteacher of Heston Community School. As our results show, we are a good school with many strengths and our Ofsted Report supports this claim.

The provision of high quality teaching and learning underpins everything that we do and ensures that our students achieve well and that Every Child Matters.

At Heston Community School, we are committed to nurturing our students so that they become confident, articulate, independent learners and thinkers who are ready to take their place in the demanding world of the 21st century. Through the provision of high quality learning opportunities both in the classroom and outside, we demonstrate our determination to create active, healthy and informed citizens of tomorrow.

We have a hardworking and caring staff who are committed to raising achievement. Our Governors work in partnership with the School, as critical friends, in order to ensure that the young people of our community enjoy the highest standard of education.

The traditional values of courtesy, discipline, good manners and respect are important to us, though we accept that they may not be necessarily fashionable nor shared by everyone in society. However, we believe that upholding these values will help us achieve results for all at Heston Community School.
